雖然BBC中文網在8/3及8/4有更多關於此案的新聞，但是較偏向本土報紙的報導，相比之下英文網站上的這篇精簡許多，為了研究在精簡過程當中是否省略了某些因素，試著翻譯了一下：

不知道看完之後，會覺得這篇和國內報導或我們對事件認知有差別嗎？

另一方面，網路上流傳著CNN在8/3當日的報導：Near A Quarter Million Taiwanese Gathered to Protest for Human Rights Violation in Its Military（25萬臺灣人集結抗議軍方侵犯人權）內容大概更加貼近示威者角度，篇幅是BBC這篇的N倍，詳盡度直逼鄉民懶人包，而且用字措辭慷慨激昂，連蘋果日報都不如他；原來是因為這篇報導來自CNN iReport，也就是公民新聞平台，是由台灣的公民記者TofBrownCoat 發佈的，從標題的長度和「Taiwanese」這個用字大概可以看出一些端倪，不過講出來的在我們聽來當然是更像人話一點。雖然不是CNN官方報導，但能藉由CNN刊在國際性的公民平台上，仍然大快人心！
